At Antioch, we are very grateful to our Presbytery’s Word & Deed ministry team for helping us over the summer to remove two large downed trees in the northwest corner of our property (at the edge of the historic Antioch cemetery). In God’s providence, the two trees (one large oak and one slightly less large hickory) fell down within a week of the Word & Deed ministry’s inaugural chainsaw training day.
A large team (see picture below) of men from across Calvary Presbytery responded to our call for help, and the two trees were safely disposed of in short order. We wish especially to thank Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church Deacon Doug Pinkham for organizing the effort and Woodruff Road member Hudson Blough for lending his expertise to the project. We strongly commend the Word & Deed ministry to the Presbytery, and we give thanks to God for the team.
