Please note that our regular Sunday School offerings are on hiatus until after the conclusion of our Fellowship Hall renovation project. Our Christian Education & Sunday School program operates on a quarterly schedule throughout the year (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer). All children’s classes are taught and supervised by at least two adults. We normally offer the following classes:
Pre-School (ages 1-4)
This class focuses on the acquisition of biblical and theological vocabulary through catechetical instruction and activities focused on Scripture.
Primary School (ages 5-8)
This class uses One Story Ministries’ Investigating God’s Word curriculum to inspire students with a love for the whole counsel of God as they study the Bible chapter-by-chapter.
Secondary School (ages 9-14)
This class uses One Story Ministries’ Implementing God’s Word curriculum to help students establish and develop a Christian worldview for every area of life.
Adult Class (ages 15+) – Dr. Joseph A. Pipa, Jr. (Leader)
This class led by Dr. Joseph A. Pipa, Jr. is a week-by-week, question-by-question study of the Christian Faith as presented in the Westminster Larger Catechism, one (oft-neglected) part of our doctrinal statement.
The Westminster Larger Catechism
Leadership Development & Officer Training – Pastor Zachary Groff (Leader)
This class is a presentation of the biblical requirements, functions, and callings of elders and deacons (i.e., ordained leadership in the church), as understood by the Presbyterian Church in America. The two goals of this class are: 1) to instruct the congregation on how to identify, test, prove, nominate, and elect church officers, and 2) to instruct and equip men who are interested in serving as ordained servants in the church. For more information, click here. This course runs periodically, as needed. The current class is being offered on Wednesday evenings following prayer meeting, beginning September 24.
Membership Class – Pastor Zachary Groff (Leader)
This class is a presentation of the basic truths of Christianity, the distinctive features of Presbyterianism, and the application of these matters to church life here at Antioch Presbyterian Church. For more information, click here. This course runs periodically, as needed. The latest iteration of this class concluded on November 9, during the Sunday School hour. The next offering of this class is to-be-determined.
